Kuta is Bali's most commercialized tourist area with extensive red (commercial) and pink (tourism) zones. Zoning is generally more favorable for vacation rentals than Canggu or Ubud. Properties in pink zones can obtain NIB for short-term rental directly; red zone properties need commercial permits. For foreign owners/PT PMA: yellow zone pockets PROHIBIT short-term rentals.
